Everything a writer needs about the story studio where kids write the book themselves.
Obooga is a big, round, sweetly incompetent monster who knows everything about stories except what happens next. In a ~20-minute web session, children ages 6–12 rescue his unfinished story by making every creative decision — the setting, the invented creature, the plan, the twist, the title. The result is a real illustrated book with the child's name on the byline ("Written by Maya, with Obooga"), free to read and share, with an optional printed hardcover keepsake of their exact story.
Personalized books put a child's name into a fixed plot. AI story apps generate stories at children. Obooga inverts both: the child is the author, the technology is the illustrator and typesetter. Every story world is human-written and every illustration human-reviewed; AI appears only in narrow, guarded moments — smoothing the child's own words into a sentence, speaking their name aloud, and drawing the one picture they describe themselves. We call the result a child-authored book, because it's the truth of every page.
"This isn't AI writing stories for your kids. This is technology bringing your child's imagination to life."

Short: Obooga is a story studio for kids 6–12, built around a lovable monster who starts every story and gets gloriously stuck — so the child makes all the creative decisions and finishes a real illustrated book, free to share, with an optional hardcover keepsake.
One line: Obooga ran out of story. Your kid writes the rest.
